Karen Price wanted to help the children in the Kibera Slums so she initiated a project to give the children coloring supplies. On one of Pastor Phil’s visits to the slums, he gave out pencils. The children were so excited to have them that Karen got the idea of sending coloring supplies. She has met her goal of gathering the supplies, and they will be delivered this summer.

One of the members at New Day Mary Dawson was honored before the worship service on her 91st birthday. Her family surprised her by each of them presenting her with a red rose. Mary was thrilled. Her grand children and great grandchildren were there too. They sat with the pastor during the children’s moments. It was a lovely gesture for Mary by her family.
New Day entertained members Sunny and Paul at the retirement home where they live. Sunny and Paul were so happy to see the hosts of the tea party. They miss being at New Day very much.
New Day is conducting our stewardship campaign November 5 through November 12. Each fall we designate a period of time when we emphasize stewardship–stewardship in all areas of our lives: our time, our talents and our treasures. This year we are focusing on God’s abundant love for us, our many blessings, how we can share this love with others and our legacy. We hope you will take time each day this week to say, “Thank you, Lord,” for your blessings and examine your heart to consider how you can best share God’s love. We pray you will feel the joy that comes from honoring God with your gifts and join us November 12 for the dedication of our Gratitude Offerings.
