Join with a group of members gathering to study the Bible. They will meet on Mondays at 6:00 p.m. You are welcome.
New Day is going to dedicate the labyrinth during worship service on July 16. Service begins at 10:30. We will leave the sanctuary and go outside at the appropriate time. Members will be ringing hand bells to aid in the celebration.
New Day is hosting a workshop on the labyrinth: history, tips on walking the labyrinth, and benefits that can be gained. It is open to the public. Come join us Tuesday, July 25, 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Join in the joy of learning about a very special pilgrimage to the center, personally and spiritually. You will have an opportunity to walk the labyrinth. If it is raining, we will use a canvas one inside, unless you would like to walk in the rain. Some people skip, dance or crawl to the center. The “walk” is your journey, do it your way!
Last Saturday, members of New Day gathered to begin construction of a labyrinth. Walking a labyrinth helps a person make a spiritual journey or find peace and joy. We are building this for our members and for anyone who needs to walk it for healing. We ran out of pavers, and are waiting for some more to be delivered. When they arrive we will have more work days until the labyrinth is finished. It is an exciting project.
New Day hosted a lunch bag decorating event last Saturday. They send the bags to Kids’ Food Basket so they can be filled with nutritional food for school children to take home for supper. New Day is planning on sending 500 bags and 500 granola bars. Granola bars can be dropped off at the church any time. There is a container by the door for them. Feeding children is a priority at New Day.
This is a busy week at New Day. The Mission Committee is sponsoring a project to collect 500 granola bars and 500 colored bags for Kids’ Food Basket. Come at 10:30 Saturday, the 17th to help or pick up some bags to work on at home.
The Property Committee is finishing up the ground work on the Community Garden and is shopping for bushes and grasses to adorn the garden.
The Labyrinth Committee is getting workers to start construction of the labyrinth this Saturday, all day. Lunch will be served to the workers. If you have some free time, just show up and help. It needn’t be all day, but every worker helps make it that much less work for those who are there. The labyrinth is for the whole community.
The church has ordered the pavers, ordered the shovels, and completed the design for the labyrinth. We are getting ready to begin construction. We will need workers. Hope you can help.
Our TJ Dodge has been working on the community garden for a long time. It was a jungle, and he single-handedly tamed it. It looks great. He is about ready to plant the bushes or the trees, whichever he decides. Can’t wait to see the garden with the plantings.
After New Day’s successful concert, they are turning their attention to constructing the labyrinth. The church is doing the construction themselves. They are viewing a labyrinth in Middleville to gain insights into the creation. The members organizing the work hope that the labyrinth will be built in June. They are seeing to the needed supplies and equipment at this time. Workers and weather are the main concerns. Keep an eye out for the project to begin. Come by and see us work, or if you are so inclined, give us a hand. Be sure to make a spiritual journey when it is finished.
New Day will be serving dinner June 6 to people who are staying in Renucci House to be with members of their families who are in the hospital. New Day not only serves dinner, but talks with the diners about their loved ones and the difficulties they face. These conversations help the families of the hospitalized deal with the situation they are in. New Day’s vision and mission are to help those in need.
